Interests....

Writing B'school essays can be interesting but what it does to an individual is it makes one become conscious that life is too short and what all could have been achieved. And moreover is life just about achieving? Can't one just pursue hobbies or interests as mere interests and not for the sake of gaining indepth knowledge even out there? Say if I like playing cricket , why do I have to gain knowledge on all the nitty gritties of the game?...well don't know where the world is heading towards we such kind of approach.
